I am a photographer and filmmaker who has experience working internationally and in the United States Air Force. Through starting my career abroad, I was able to gain unique experiences that pushed me to always strive for my best. I produce media that is visually engaging and leaves a lasting impression through my aesthetic choices, production skills, and technical knowledge.
Additionally, I enjoy creating compositions for my fine art photography series, Vanitas. The symbolic vanitas style of the 16th and 17th century Dutch painters brings to light the transience of life. Steeped in religious messages and values, traditional vanitas paintings were utilized to remind the viewer that they could not take their earthly possessions and achievements with them in death. They urged people to repent for their sins and to reflect upon their mortality through vivid, impactful imagery.
My body of work is homage to the vanitas painters of the past; expanding upon their stylistic choices and transforming their religious undertones. Furthermore, I explore, through the contemporary, the longing to hold onto memories, values, and things that are transitory in nature. My compositions remind us that little stands in the way of what we hold familiar and dear from transitioning into death and decay.
